3D Shapes
5th and 6th class have been busy learning all about 3D shapes this week in Maths. But what is a 3D shape?
3D shapes have faces (sides), edges and vertices (corners). A net is what a 3D shape would look like if it were opened out flat.
Top Trump Cards
To help us learn about the properties of 3D shapes we made Maths Top Trump Cards and played games.
3D Shape Creations
We used tooth picks, marshmallows and jellies to make our 3D shapes. This was a yummy activity as we were allowed to eat the left over sweets at lunch time! Can you name any of our super creations below:
Can you count how many faces are on each shape?
Did you know that another name for a triangular based pyramid is a tetrahedron?
