As you are aware the pupils of 5th and 6th class took part in a “Bizworld” workshop in conjunction with Bank of Ireland in September and two groups “HTB & Sho Wow” have been chosen to represent the school this Saturday at Skerries Enterprise Town event, alongside a group from Reált na Mara.

The latest initiative from our Green Schools Committee was a Toy Swap Shop. This worked on a ticket system. Pupils were invited to bring in used or unwanted toys and were allocated tickets corresponding to their approximate value – during which pupils traded toys in for tickets.

5th and 6th class have been learning about chromatography. Paper chromatography is a method of separating mixtures, particularly water-soluble markers, food colouring on sweets, paints or pigments in plants. Chromatography separates out the colours and we can find out which ones are present in ink or dye.

On Thursday, 26th of October, Yvonne from the Hedgehog Rescue center based in Rush came to visit our school. She cares for over 250 hedgehogs!

On Thursday, the 19th of October, 6th class went to Christ Church. Before the service, we explored the vaults underneath. We saw a dead cat and a dead rat who got stuck in the organ pipe, costumes from a TV series “The Tudors” which part was filmed in Christ Church.
