On Wednesday 11th of January, the students of 3rd to 6th class were delighted to be visited by the Deutschmobil. This initiative was part of our cultural and geographical aspect of our Blue Star programme.
The Deutschmobil is run by the Goethe Institute in Dublin whose aim is to promote German in Ireland, by giving students an opportunity to learn about life in Germany from a native German speaker.
Working with Paulina, they learned about the different states in Germany and worked together to complete the jigsaw. They then learnt all about German animal names, which saw the children completing crosswords and playing charades. At the end of the session Paulina was very impressed with German and each child was presented with a selection of German treats!
Everyone had a great time learning about the German language and culture and are looking forward to welcoming the Deutschmobil again on a future date!
