Principal's Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Holmpatrick National School, a small Church of Ireland school nestled in the beautiful seaside town of Skerries. Whether you’re a new family considering joining our community, or a returning one, I thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school.

What makes Holmpatrick unique is the strong sense of community we share. Wtih a small staff and close-knit classes, each child is known, valued and supported. Our school is a place where everyone belongs – one where respect, kindness and encouragement are part of every day. We take pride in building confidence in our pupils, helping them to become happy, capable and caring young people. We are committed to fostering a warm and inclusive environment where children from all backgrounds, of all religions and none, are equally welcome.

Every pupil who walks through our doors brings something unique and valuable to our school. We are committed to ensuring that each child feels safe, supported and inspired to do their best every day.

Warmest regards,

Deirdre MacLean, Principal

Parents and Students say this:

"Mixed classes let you be able to interact with different ages. Small classes help the teachers keep an eye on bullying. You know everyone. It’s a friendly environment.”
5th Class Student
“He has been able to learn in an environment that appreciates him as an individual. His interests have been embraced in class, he is allowed to dress as he feels comfortable and he has been able to build his confidence because his class is small.”

“We have a very safe school; we don’t let anyone be mean to each other.”
1st class student
“I have complete trust in the competence and integrity of the staff and teaching team. I fully respect the value system of the school and love that the values being instilled in him while I can’t be there are aligned with the values we prioritise at home.”
